SPEEDWELL Development appoints Maria Jianu as Leasing Director

SPEEDWELL Development, one of the leading real estate developers announces the appointment of Maria Jianu as Leasing Director. Maria will work closely with Andreea Comșa, SPEEDWELL’s Commercial Director and will actively contribute to expanding and strengthening the company’s tenant pool in its commercial projects including QUEENS District, SpacePlus and Paltim.

Maria Jianu has an impressive track record, managing leasing strategies for over 300,000 square meters of office space in her previous roles. Involved in initiatives around sustainability, digitization and marketing, she has facilitated strategic partnerships that have brought long-term value to the projects and business communities where she worked.

In her new role, Maria Jianu will have a significant impact on the leasing strategy of SPEEDWELL Development projects, focusing on creating a balanced tenant mix of well-known brands and emerging companies. She will also develop strategic partnerships designed to improve the tenant experience, helping to create dynamic communities.

Among the ongoing projects, QUEENS District, a mixed-used development, is central to SPEEDWELL’s portfolio, being a landmark project in an area highly demanded by both companies and young families seeking a work-life balance. With a mix of office, retail, residential and medical space, the QUEENS District project stands out for its commitment to sustainability, being among the only net zero-carbon buildings to be delivered in the next 2 years. With a total leasable area of 23,000 square feet of Class A office space and modern amenities, QUEENS District offers a strategic advantage to companies, designed to reduce operating costs by up to 40% below market standard. QUEENS District is scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2027 and ready to accommodate office space tailored to specific client needs.

Maria will also contribute to the consolidation of SPEEDWELL’s position in the industrial-logistics segment, with projects such as SPACEPLUS, which continues to perform with its superior quality and comprehensive safety and energy efficiency certifications. Following the success of SPACEPLUS Chitila, fully leased and appreciated for its quality and efficiency, SPACEPLUS Popești-Leordeni, the second project in this category, is to be delivered at the end of this year.

Maria will also coordinate the leasing activity of the mixed-use PALTIM project, located in the vibrant heart of Timișoara, on the banks of the Bega River, and will play a decisive role in the management of the commercial spaces, contributing to positioning the project as a landmark in the local real estate market.

In addition to existing projects, Maria Jianu will be actively involved in future developments, including the mixed-use project located on the site of the former 1 IUNIE S.A. factory, which will include retail, residential and office spaces. The project is in the permitting process, with delivery planned in the near future. Her expertise will play a key role in a long expected development, CityZen, the regeneration project of the former Griro platform, that although it could revive a forgotten area of Bucharest, which would open a new area, not only from an office perspective, but more important from an urban regeneration perspective, is still blocked by the suspension of the PUG of the Capital and the lack of dialog.
